About the expert

Dr. Jeremy Alland is a distinguished sports medicine physician with a deep-rooted passion for both sports and medicine. He graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago, where he earned the prestigious William H. Harrison, PhD Award for his leadership and collaborative spirit. He went on to complete a Family Medicine residency at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he served as Chief Resident and was selected as the best resident teacher by his peers.

After returning to Rush and his hometown of Chicago, Dr. Alland completed a fellowship in sports medicine. During his fellowship, he gained valuable experience as a team physician for the Chicago White Sox (MLB), Chicago Bulls (NBA), Chicago Fire Soccer Club (MLS), DePaul University, and several high school teams. He has also been part of the finish-line medical teams at both the Chicago and Pittsburgh marathons.

Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Alland is a member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. His background as a former collegiate baseball pitcher fuels his passion for treating athletes. He specializes in comprehensive care for athletes, with particular interests in throwing athletes, golfers, sports performance, and ultrasound-guided procedures.

Currently, Dr. Alland serves as a team physician for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blaze, Chicago City Soccer Club, and Mount Carmel High School. He previously provided medical care for DePaul University and the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls’ NBA G-League team. Dr. Alland is also an active researcher, having authored numerous papers in sports medicine, and he serves as a peer reviewer for The Journal of Family Practice.

Dr. Alland lives in the Northern Suburbs with his wife, daughter, son, and dog.
